We are dedicated to growing all of our mushrooms using Earth-honoring and regenerative practices. Ground Culture’s mushrooms are available through our CSM shares and at select apothecaries in Portland, Oregon.

Reishi - Ganoderma lucidum


Royal Revitalizer

Reishi is the wise, regal Queen of the mushrooms. As elder and guide of restoration and resilience, Reishi transmits longevity and grounded wisdom. Regal Reishi has a lasting legacy as a potent medicinal used for over 4000 years in medicine traditions of China and Japan. In China, this mushroom is called “Ling Zhi,” meaning “Spirit Plant,” “Plant of Immortality,” and “Herb of Spiritual Potency.”

According to ancient Chinese poetry, oysters are “the mushroom of flower heaven.” At Ground Culture, we believe oysters can change the world! We grow a variety of types of oyster mushrooms — pink, golden, white elm, king, and blue. Oysters are easy to cultivate and have great potential for mycoremediation projects that can help heal the toxic environmental impacts of industrialization with the power of fungi!

Today, it is one of the most commonly cultivated mushrooms worldwide and prized for being high in antioxidants, B vitamins, magnesium, potassium, and vitamin D.
