MICROBE POWER

Decades of scientific research has demonstrated the wide range of successful regenerative applications of the collection of microorganisms called “Effective Microorganisms.” These particular collection of food-grade microbes — lactic acid + purple non-sulfur bacteria + yeasts — has a wide variety of uses in gardening, composting, agriculture and conservation and bioremediation. The studies we have chosen to share are ones that we feel demonstrate the potential effective use of bokashi balls to restore the polluted water and soil in the area where we live and farm — the Portland Harbor Superfund Site.
